Real Estate Sales
"To be successful in real estate, you need to have a strong referral base to help build new business. Client satisfaction and name recognition are critical for survival.
Keep in contact with old clients. Don't ever let them forget you or your phone number. I provide yearly, magnetized desk calendars to every client for whom I have listed or sold a home. The calendar keeps my name and telephone number in front of them. In fact, people like them so much, they often ask for additional ones for their office or other family members. They call me towards the end of the year to remind me to bring them calendars for next year. This gives me another opportunity to have friendly contact with them.
To further reinforce my personal contact with my client base, I hand deliver these calendars whenever possible. This way, we can have a face-to-face meeting so they'll remember me. Often I will get referrals from clients that day or it turns out that they are planning on moving. When I visit them, it also gives me the chance to see their home. My clients delight in 'showing off' the latest improvements they've made, and it gives us a chance to talk about market conditions.
I also maintain contact with anyone who has moved out of the area. You never know when they may return, or have a friend, co-worker or relative who wants or needs to move here.
It's vital to make sure your clients know they are important to you and that they feel they have a 'lifetime realtor.' Consistently keep in touch and they will always think of you and send lots of referral business."
