The Mystery Link
Seen recently in ezine ads: the ad simply lists the advertiser's URL. Example:

Sorta makes you want to click on the link, doesn't it? Isn't that what it's all about?

Team to Drive New Ezine Subscribers
Want to attract more subscribers to your mailing list? Contact other ezine publishers you respect and propose a teaming effort (maximum of 5 members) that can increase all participants' subscriber numbers.

Here's how it works: You have a form on your site that allows folks to subscribe to your ezine. When the user hits the submit button, they are redirected to a "thank you" page. This thank you page holds a invitation for the user to subscribe to other ezines - namely, the ezines of your teaming partners. Everyone agrees to run each other's "subscribe info" on each site's thank you page.

Need a UNIX CGI script to process this plan? Check out Master Subscriber PRO, a script that allows subscription/unsubscription of unlimited numbers of ezines from your site's form(s). It works with all list servers that accept email subscribes/unsubscribes, including Majordomo. Master Subscriber PRO is also compatible with the popular free list servers such as onelist.com, topica.com, groups.yahoo.com, and others. Cost is $35.00. Setup is easy if you're familiar with Web development scripting.
