Choosing the right version of your logo design.
It is very easy to change the character of some logo designs through typography. The logo shown here is for a puppy training school. The same logo shown below has a more conservative look due to a different type treatment. Both were done to help explore the preference of anticipated customers.

Maybe you should be the logo.
Here it is, the inevitable exception to the "simple-logos-work-best" rule. Ever seen a model's head sheet with a logo of some kind included in the photo? It never outshines the face. I simply could not come up with a better symbol to use on Tim Conover's brochure, labels and business stationary. Tim is an entertainer and corporate spokesperson at major trade shows and special event presentations throughout the country.
         Because of his occupation, he is out there in front of his audience more than any mailer or other media device ever could be. Such in-person performances are bound to make a far more memorable statement than a logo on a business card. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to let his likeness be the logo in support of his own persona.
         The general conditions that should exist if you are to be the logo for your business are twofold: (1) You alone are the business or your own free agent for a firm which is always billed secondarily. (2) A great deal of your success in a given field is dependent upon appearance, confidence and reputation.
